Smoking Cigars and Dining Out

Lonely in a crowd
No smiles for me
Pushed out of the way
By a rush to nowhere

My ragged old coat
Unshaven face
Tangled hair
A human lemon

So damn hungry
Can you spare a buck
Am I invisible
I hope you miss your train

Kids playing and laughing
I had two of them
All grown up now
Might even be a pop

Time for a smoke
Shop on the ground
Cigar still burning
I am such a toff

Today's paper
Shares still up
Gates another billion
Middle East burning

Soup kitchen dinner
With Jack Smith
Looks pretty bad
Best meal today

Jack and I go home
Box under a bridge
Only have to share
With a family of rats
